Blurred (di)Vision 4.0: ARCHITECT AS DEVELOPER
AIA-SWO March Chapter Meeting
AIA-Southwestern Oregon hosts the annual Blurred (di)Vision series dedicated to exploring the overlap, integration, collaboration, and blurring of architecture with other disciplines. This year's Blurred (di)Vision program will focus on the role of Architect as Developer.
This month’s topic is bringing together Architect/Developers and City Planners to describe the process and experience of creating and building private development projects. Our panel of presenters will share, from their experiences, the opportunities, challenges, and discoveries of being architects who are also in the role of developer, as well as the city's role and involvement in dealing with property development. The format of the discussion will start with individual presentations followed by a panel-style Q&A session.
Our presenter list includes (subject to change):
- Greg Brokaw, Rowell Brokaw Architects (Eugene)
- Kristin Slavin, PATH Architecture (Portland)
- Zach Galloway, City of Eugene Planning
The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:30 pm, with the presentation starting at 6:15 pm on Wednesday, March 16th, at Sam Bond’s Brewery at 540 E. 8th Ave. (across the street from the Wayne L. Morse US Courthouse). Note: this month's chapter meeting will not be catered, see more information about food below.
