Arts & Technology Academy
1650 W 22nd Ave. Eugene 97405
AIA-SWO welcomes you to join our next Construction Tour of the Arts & technology Academy, led by Project Architect Patrick Hannah, on June 21st at 11:45 am-12:45 pm.
The new Arts & Technology Academy was designed by Rowell Brokaw Architects and Opsis Architecture, and is being built by Hyland Construction. The project retains the 3 gym volumes of the existing facility and wraps these with nearly 83,000 sf of new construction. The project is being completed in phases, with the south portion to be complete by early June. Summer work includes remaining demolition, remodel of the existing large gym, and construction of new parking lot and bus drop off zones. The project is scheduled to be fully complete September 30th.
The design is intended to support an innovative learning program that encourages group and project-based learning. The building is organized around a two-story day-lit central lobby and adjacent STEM workshop, with public and administrative spaces to the east and learning spaces to the west. The west wing learning spaces include a series of large, flexible commons areas adjacent to circulation spaces. The overall design aims to promote a secure learning environment with connections to outdoors and ample daylighting.
The tour will begin promptly at 11:45 am. Hardhats, vests, and close toed shows are required.
