CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARDS

Every three years the chapter supports the craft of our industry partners with an award program that focuses on honoring the skills of contractors and sub-contractors. The awards are selected from projects submitted to a juried show. 

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Service to our community is a cornerstone of professional life. This committee connects professional expertise to community needs. For more information contact the Director of Community Affairs.

 

DESIGN ANNUAL (RG INSERT)

The Design Annual is a collection of work, stories, and imagery that celebrates the built environment of our communities through meaningful written and graphic content. For more information email Andrew Schiedt and view previous issues under publications

 

DESIGN EXCELLENCE

This committee is dedicated to improving the quality of the built environment in our local communities and throughout the state of Oregon.  It will provides a series of community-wide education forums about design excellence at the building, urban, and metro scales.

 

EMERGING PROFESSIONALS

Formerly known as the Young Architects Forum (YAF) this committee facilitates opportunities for discussion and growth for young, unlicensed architectural professionals as they work towards licensure. 

 
 
 
 
 
 

LUNCHEON - LEARNS

On the 2nd Tuesday of the month AIA-SWO and the CSI collaborate to provide live presentations.Refer to the calendar page for information on upcoming lunch + learns. If you are an industry product representative contact Will Dixon for scheduling information.

 

NOMINATIONS

The President Elect directs this committee, which convenes annually to seek nominations for board and committee leadership positions. Email the President Elect for more information.

 

NETWORKING

The Networking Committee develops and maintains engagement between AIA-SWO and other entities; compiles information on upcoming events and activities into one calendar; and identifies opportunities for sponsorship, membership, and event collaboration.

 

PROGRAMS

Monthly chapter meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. Annual programs include a professional pin-up at the University of Oregon (UO), a chapter picnic, a meeting in Corvallis, a meeting in Bend, and a holiday gathering.

 

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS

The PCA Committee plans the annual People's Choice, Mayor's Choice, and Colleague's Choice awards, including the sponsorship and media outreach associated with these events. 

 

VOLUNTEER COORDINATION

This committee works with the board to set protocol for volunteer sign-up and discounts and connects directors to volunteers. The members develop a rough draft of task assignments to be reviewed by the board.
