THE OCTAGON

THE CHAPTER CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURE

THE STORY:

The Southwestern Oregon Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA-SWO) is excited to offer the Octagon, a gathering place and exhibition venue for collaborative interaction between member architects, professional affiliates, and our community. Located in downtown Eugene, the Center encourages dialogue on the built environment and how it affects our daily lives.

The Octagon is a great place for Board and Committee meetings, as well as Luncheon Learn and other Chapter events. The space is also available for rent to members and the public, as outlined below:

Public Display Space:
The Octagon features 14 windowed panels for displays of design excellence. Each window is 4 feet wide and 8 feet tall. The display space is 2 feet deep and lighting is adjustable.

Meeting Space:
The Octagon’s meeting space is perfect for a downtown gathering of 6-15 people. Parking is conveniently located in the neighboring garage. You are welcome to bring food in for your meetings. We’ve designed the space for collaboration and flexibility. Tables can be arranged as separate work stations or assembled into a conference table.

Rates:
Window display rates are $10/panel/month for AIA-SWO members, and $25/panel/month for the community. Meetings space rates range from $20-40/day for members, and $50-250/day for community and commercial users. For details and scheduling, contact Kathy Wendland at kathy@aiaswo.org.
