This Thursday at Three
It's all People's Choice Awards this week.
You Might Already Be Late!
Do you have boards to be entered in this year's display? Have they been delivered to Oveissi Rugs at Broadway & Willamette (without excess packaging)? If you answered yes to the first and no to the second, then you're already late! We're giving our set-up folks a little extra time this year, so it's less stressful and the ballot is more intuitive. If you haven't already, please bring your boards down right away!
Volunteer for People's Choice
Thank you for the warm response to volunteering at this year's display. This year, we have two opportunities: one inside and another outside. Most of the inside slots have been filled, but if you really want a kick, sit for a spell at the "Architecture 5 Cents" booth outside the rug store.
If you want to get a sense of how regular people think of architects, if you want to brag about the good work being done here, or if you just enjoy people watching, please sign up for a two-hour slot. Here's the link. Pick a time that's convenient for you. Sign up together with somebody you don't see often enough. Then get ready for a very fun two hours.
The "Five Cents" booth sign-up is marked with a tab at the bottom. If you get confused or lost, you can call Alison Moore at 541-762-1605 and she'll get you signed up. Or email her at amoore@pivotarchitecture.com
Don't Forget Colleagues' Choice
Even if you can't volunteer, we do want each and every one of you to stop by to cast your own vote in the Colleagues' Choice Awards. (You don't even have to pay the admission fee for the Celebration if you're only there to vote. Enter the rug store from the east at Broadway. The side door is outside the gate.)

NWPR Conference Registration is Open!
Crafting the Future, is a conference in two parts. The first portion will be held in Tokyo and serves as the AIA NW&P Regional conference. The second portion will consist of travel south and west of Tokyo over a four day period and is hosted by AIA COD. You may register for each conference independently or may select both conferences.
Following the devastating earthquake in northern Japan, members of AIA Japan, AIA Committee on Design and the AIA Northwest & Pacific Region have been working to refine a dynamic program for the conference. Risks have been carefully assessed regarding travel to Japan. Colleagues in Tokyo have counseled the AIA regarding contributions architects can make to their fragile economy by visiting their country. In addition, significant and unique learning opportunities exist for this conference directly following the event of the recent earthquake. It is therefore with great care and a sense of responsibility that the AIA NW&P Region is moving forward with the Region Conference in Japan.
